Simple thing… Both consoles offer in my opinion the same variety of games. Make yourself smart which games you would like so and then decide your purchase. Many games keep the rights only on Ps or Xbox, so go through games and go.
But I personally like the Ps 4 best, because of the controler and if you are interested in the VR "Feeling" is also more pleasant for me.
Personally I like the Xbox One controller better, but if you are on PS4, but come with Xbox form better clear, then I recommend you such scuf controller - they are licensed for the PS4, but have the shape of the Xbox One controller. - Another solution would be an adapter stick that allows a wireless connection with the Xbox Controller to the PS4, and / or vice versa.
