If an update is paused at xbox and the game is a disc, can you insert another game and just keep playing?

I would like to update Jump Force and take a short break to play Fifa, but both are on disk and I don't know if the download progress will go away if I insert Fifa 20.

Probably too late but better than never.

The download continues even if you play something else.
