I currently have a PS4 Pro and have played all of the games I'm interested in. Now I'm considering switching to the Series S.
Will I notice a significant improvement in loading times and fan noise or is it not worth it?
How does it work with the game pass? I read that this kind of works with a cloud. Does that mean I'm always dependent on the Internet connection (which is rather bad for me). For example, are the old FarCry / Hitman games included?
So far I have played the following games: FarCry, Metro, COD, Hitman and only offline (Sory mode), online does not appeal to me and is not fun with my internet connection. Screen: currently normal FullHD with 60 HZ.
What bothers me about the PS4 Pro: loading times, fan noise and I'm running out of games.
Would you recommend the Series S to me or should I stay with the PS4 Pro and switch to the PS5 later if necessary?
You can find information about the game pass here:

Yes! You will have significantly shorter loading times thanks to the built-in SSD.
And there's hardly any fan noise on Xbox consoles!

Your scores are saved in the cloud, yes. The game itself is installed on your hard drive, but you can also stream your games via XCloud, the gaming streaming service from Microsoft | Xbox, but it is not mandatory.
You need an internet connection, but not to be able to play the games in general, but to collect your achivements and load your saved games.
FarFry and Hitman are not in Xbox Game Pass. Newly released games from third-party providers are always added to the Game Pass a little later.

all these games are also available on the Xbox Series S. You can even play them in higher resolutions and more stable or even higher frame rates.
While most games on the Ps4 only run in 900p, almost all games run in FULLHD (1080p) or even up to 8K.

Then you are in very good hands with the Xbox Series S!
Thanks to the SSD, loading times are like history.
There are simply no fan noises or problems with the new Xbox consoles. Dss is a well-known Sony problem.
And with the Game Pass you get hundreds of games!

Yes, switch to the Xbox Series S.
If you were ready for it, the Xbox Series X would of course be the best decision, especially since it is the most powerful and this year the most interesting console of all.
I would not recommend the Playstation 5 personally, because it has fan problems, power supply problems, graphics problems, relatively little performance (you don't really see a difference to the Playstation 4 Pro) and you should just go for a revision or even a slim, resp. Wait for the pro version or you can buy the Xbox Series X, which is like a pro version, for a lower price with a better overall package.
Thank you very much for your detailed answer.
Since I don't have a 4K screen and only have 60 HZ anyway, I would hardly notice the advantages of the X, at least for the moment.
Today I got a Series S for 200 francs and am currently setting it up. For me as a casual gamer, it's a very good price-performance ratio. I'm really looking forward to playing.
No problem.
I hope you have a lot of fun with your new Xbox!
