How long do modeling varnishes and acrylic last on controllers?

I'm currently thinking about getting a custom controller and was wondering how long the color lasts or whether it wears out. It is modeling varnish and acrylic and clear varnish.

Acrylic lacquer is not well suited for objects that are constantly being touched.

The hand grease / dirt is transferred to the soft color itself and can therefore not be cleaned for long.
