The following problem: I started an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for 1 euro over 3 months at the beginning of the year. Now I forgot to cancel the subscription in time and am now in arrears with a payment of over 12.99 euro. I have loaded 15 Euro credit and tried to pay, but this is not possible, I can only pay directly by credit card, PayPal, direct debit or mobile phone. I also tried to cancel without paying, but I was denied, i.e. The field to cancel is not there / is replaced by a red "pay now" which of course does not work. Microsoft Support doesn't answer either. My questions now are: a) will the amount simply be deducted from my Microsoft account balance and can I then cancel the subscription? And b) is there any other way to cancel?
Well everything is there. It's your own fault if you take out a subscription without reading it carefully.
You pay the outstanding month by credit card, Paypal or mobile phone.
Why you are only offered this option is also obvious. Once you could not pay and now Microsoft wants a permanently secure payment source to prevent another payment default.
If you have paid with the options given, you can cancel immediately.
