I would like to expand the memory of my Xbox Series S a little, but the right Seagate expansion is currently still very, very expensive.
Therefore, I would like to attach an external hard drive for the time being, in the hope that the Seagate will eventually become cheaper or competing products will be available.
Which ones can you recommend? Are there certain ones that are optimized for the new Xbox generation or whatever (as long as USB 3.0 or higher)?
And how big is the difference between an external SSD or HDD on the Xbox in practice? So if the SSD has a massively higher transfer rate on the data sheet, is this additional power actually available or is that limited by the fact that it is connected via USB? Is one with USB 3.1 worth it compared to one with USB 3.0?
500-1000 GB would be enough for me, an HDD would be much more interesting in terms of price.
Seagate gets a lot of bad reviews, at least on an 8TB drive. Personally, however, I'm completely satisfied with Western Digital. Still holds and the quality is very good
I would rather use an HDD, unless the games should start a little faster, then an SSD, but not really worth it for the extra charge
He means the original Seagate SSD storage expansion which is currently the only available and fully usable expansion.
In addition, he should consider that X / S optimized games only work correctly on the internal or extended SSD storage. If you save on an external USB hard drive, you can only play the one version of the game.
But yes, there's also a cheap model, regardless of the company.
