Question about an Xbox Live Gold termination?

I quit Xbox as it says above. I just don't know if I did it right, because instead of canceling my subscription, I clicked Deactivate billing / payment again. If I press cancel subscription now, it says Xbox live gold can't be calculated. You have paid for your xbox live and it will expire on xx.xx.2020. To be on the safe side, I wanted to ask if Xbox live gold is over after this time

That means as much as you have already paid by this date. And since you pressed the button, no more payment is due

Well from the date yes. But you still have gold until this date because you have already paid. The day after that date. From then on you will run out of gold. But from now on you don't have to pay anything anymore.

I was always billed at the end of the month, so I wasn't sure. But now I've also looked into Xbox and there's also the last load on xx.xx.2020 so everything should be in the green area
