How can you reliably set usage times for your children using your Microsoft account?

If you go under Family in the Microsoft account and then select a child as a family member, I assumed that you can limit the usage times of Microsoft Windows and Xbox using the Screentime tab. If I choose a time and it has expired, the child in question can still play. Only if I make settings under "App and game limits" will there be restrictions. However, it is very tedious and confusing to make the restriction in each individual app. Do you know how to reliably make settings for screen time that will hopefully apply to all apps?

Ja

Hi, there are only Microsoft Family options.

Outside of your question: I strongly advise against setting this up - it can permanently damage the relationship of trust between you and your children and your relationship. You should rather talk to your child (s) about usage times and agree rules together, rather than using the software. So you should really think about it - a lot has happened in families I know because parents used it to pretend.

What do you mean happened with some?

Ja

In some families, this led to serious trust and relationship problems for the family. The children do not feel properly supported, but rather deceived.

There may also be discussions with the local youth welfare office.
