Does the gaming experience depend on the TV (Xbox One)?

Th

It makes a difference whether you play xD on a flat screen or on an old tube

otherwise rather minimal. Of course there will always be TVs that promise an even better picture, but you don't necessarily have to go higher than 4K. The human eye can't perceive much more anyway

au

Nice. Depending on the color and resolution of the TV, it can be better or worse and if you e.g. Shooter play where the reaction time is important, then the reaction time of the television can also have an influence.

Mo

Of course, the picture quality of the television also has an impact on the gaming experience.

pa

Sorry but the last time I was in a specialist store (no matter where) there was a 4K Tv 65 inch to my left, and an 8K 65 inch TV to my right, both from the same brand, and I'll tell you one thing, my dear if if you don't notice the difference, you're just blind!
But I have to say that the displayed image material was the same, only with the 8K TV it was of course also on 8K. So the difference is there but no products.

an example: you have a car that "can" drive 600kmh but you have no road that makes this possible.

But the difference is there, the resolution has nothing to do with the human eye, possibly the hz or FPS but in my opinion you can also see a difference there, e.g. From 60hz to 144hz, I even see the difference from 144hz to 240hz.

Th

I'm not blind, thank you:-) Only the human eye can only see a certain pixel density or not. In addition, you always need the appropriate material. There are almost no movies or games that run on 8K. What you see in the shop is of course recorded extra on 8K and processed so that the devices can be sold.

In the next few years, an 8K TV will tend to be superfluous.

pa

I'm aware that they run on 8K and I also mentioned that there are no products, and I also wrote an example above that the "then you picture" was not meant to be angry xD

Th

No problem:-)

I think the 8K will really be worthwhile in 5 to 10 years, if there's then also appropriate material, but at the moment everything is only artificially upscaled

ma

Partly already.

Example to answer the question:

1. You play on a TV with a resolution of 1080p without HDR, you see pixels on the edge of soft edges despite the distance and the lighting conditions are simply not right.

2. You are playing on a TV with a resolution of 4K with HDR and can't see any pixels and everything looks sharp and very fluid and the lighting conditions are right.

(Tested this with Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox One S on a 4K TV and TV with 1080p)
