Yes, you have to set priority on ingamechat.
So I used to use the CREATIVE Sound BlasterX G5 sound card for my headset. For a little less money you get the Creative Soundblaster Z card, which I like very well.
You do not need two sound cards just because you want to use the headphones on two different devices.
I've only used it on the PC so far, because I have no game consoles.
