I pre-ordered the xBox Series S (my first xBox console), but unfortunately I'm still missing a game.
Can anyone recommend a few games that will also run on the system?

Buy the trial subscription from the Gamepass. Then you have a lot to choose from. 1st month was 1 euro a year ago. If that doesn't work, give notice. After the payment month has expired, the downloaded games can no longer be played.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Dirt 5, Cyberpunk 2077 or, as already noted, the Gamepass Ultimate.
With the you get a lot of games, including all Microsoft Exclusives from the start and Xbox Live.
First of all, I can recommend the Game Pass, which gives you access to all the classics in the Xbox game library, as well as many newer games.
Otherwise, there are a lot of promising games coming out this fall and winter, especially Cyberpunk 2077, a title that many people have been waiting for for years.
