Otherwise you could always redeem the QR code of an Xbox live credit with the Kinect, I don't think you can help me anymore because the code broke when you wrote it down.

As long as it is a QR code and is not a Microsoft creation, you can also read this code e.g. With your smartphone. You can then redeem the code on the XBox or in the browser on your smartphone.

Depending on the smartphone manufacturer, a QR code reader is installed in the camera app. Alternatively, Google Lens should be preinstalled (Android) or you can look for a QR code / barcode reader from your app store.
