Xbox Series S Monitor?

I bought a monitor that can handle 1440p and 120Hz, the problem is that I can only get 1440p with 60Hz or 120Hz with 1080p on my Xbox Series S, all connected via HDMI 2.0.

Why is that now?

Na

Give Displayport a try

Ra

The Xbox Series S has no DisplayPort, unfortunately 😔

Na

Oh bruh… Yes, I think she doesn't manage 144hz in Wqhd anyway… 60 is enough…

Na

It's a shame about the expensive monitor, but yes 😂

Ke

But she definitely manages

Fl

Your Xbox is just not strong enough to hit 1440p at 120hz. The connection makes no difference here

Ra

But on the Internet it says that she should actually make it

Fl

In the games you will probably have to activate 120fps mode if the game supports it. I think the feature is not yet fully developed

Ma

Does it possibly need HDMI 2.1 for this?

Besides, what game are we talking about here? Not every game supports 120Hz and if so then mostly with dynamic resolution and not a fixed one.

Ra

Forza 4 and HDMI 2.0, for example, are sufficient

Ma

You need HDMI 2.1

Ma

Forza Horizon 4 doesn't support 120Hz at all!

In addition, the Series S actually limits the resolution for 120Hz games to a maximum of 1080p.

For more, you need a Series X which is more powerful.
