Which is better XBox series x or PS5?

Hello which console is better and are there also e.g. PS5 games for the XBox and vice versa.

Sa

The Xbox Series X is definitely the most powerful console, but you have to see what is most important to you (exclusive title, friends or relatives, controllers)

Ma

How better?

On paper, the Series X is the more powerful console.

However, the architecture of the PS5 is very similar to its predecessor and currently makes it easier for developers to optimize their games on it.

With the Xbox, on the other hand, it is currently much more difficult because on the one hand optimizing the games there's virtually uncharted territory and on the other hand they have to grind through the weaker Series S.

What the consoles are actually capable of will only become apparent in the course of time when there are real exclusives and the developers are familiar with the technology.

For me, the Xbox Series is also the better console. It looks stylish, is whisper-quiet, has a fast and above all expandable SSD memory, the better controller, the cool Quick Resume feature, is fully downward compatible with the One, as well as with numerous 360 and Xbox games and of course the ingenious Gamepass (Ultimate).

And yes, you can play almost any game on both consoles. Whether Fortnite, Cod or Fifa, most games are multiplatform and exclusive games are the exception.

Mi

Technically speaking, the Xbox Series X is the more powerful console.

Which one you personally find better now depends on your own taste.

Which is better XBox series x or PS5?

In terms of hardware and software, the Xbox Series X is a lot better.

According to many, the same thing is installed, but that is absolute nonsense. The processor is the same yes, but the Xbox Series X processor unit clocks higher than that of the Playstation 5.

The biggest difference, however, is probably the main memory, the hard drive space and the graphics unit.

The Xbox Series X has a 12 TFLOP / s graphics unit. This means that it can perform 12,000,000,000,000 (12 trillion) arithmetic steps per second. The Playstation 5, on the other hand, can only "only" perform 9 million arithmetic steps. Above all, this leads to a difference in resolution, frame rate and rendering distance.

The RAM and the hard disk space.

😄 It is said that the Playstation 5 should have such a fast SDD, that's right, yes. However, this brings zero point to the Playstation 5, because if you want to have shorter loading times, you need a faster RAM (working memory). The Playstation 5 has a fast but small SSD. The Series X has a slower, but also larger SSD, with more storage space.

It was all very technical now, but that's just behind these consoles - technology.

On the whole, you should decide for yourself which console is better for you, for me the Xbox Series X is the significantly better console, not only because of the performance, but also because of the safer and better software, the games (which are supported by the Performance can look even better), Xbox Game Pass, and the controller.

Hope I could help.

I think the developers have a harder time with the Xbox Series X because Microsoft left unfinished Def Kits to the developers. Does that mean these are not 100% finished consoles.

And Sony has decided to continue to support the Playstation 4, 4 Pro, which is quite good, but the games only suffer in the end. It is not without reason, for example, that The Medium can only be played on the Xbox Series S | X, because other consoles would not even be able to handle it. (especially if an RTX3090 already causes problems with it).

Ex

The PS5 has 10.28 terraflops or so and no 9

Ke

Yes in boost mode. However, the CPU clocks down in boost mode, which brings you back to 9 teraflops of total performance.

Ad

Medium would also run on Ps5 as it was implemented

the game partially scales down to 900p (Series X) or even 600p (Series s)

Only a contract prevents the implementation for Ps5

Ad

I have both Nexgen consoles

The box is clearly the better and also has the better downward compatibility

However, I still run the Ps5 more and that has a simple reason. Unfortunately, my favorite game does not exist on the Xbox (and implementation is in the stars despite the fact that the fronts between the developer and Microsoft have now been clarified)

Ke

No not just a contract.

That the Xbox Series X version has to scale down is clear!

Because the game has to be rendered twice! But that shows that you haven't informed yourself that it wouldn't work well on the Playstation 5.

Ad

It also works on the weak Series S… And rendering twice is also overrated - it's the same worlds with different textures and not everything is there twice over the long term

other than that, the Ps5 is almost the same hardware as the Xbox

Ad

The graphics units can't be compared at all, the Ps5 GPU is clocked much higher, the Xbox GPU has more computing units

Incidentally, the SSDs are the same with different sizes and in both cases actually pearls in front of the pig

Ke

It works on the weak Series S too…

* Weaker not weak.

It is still more powerful than all Playstation consoles except for the Playstation 5.

. And rendering twice is also overrated, it is the same worlds with different textures and not everything is there twice over the long term

Overrated? That's what you say. An RTX3090 / RX6900XT even has problems with it, that says it all!

And the XSS and XSX versions are not the same. The XSX has a significantly better level of detail.

other than that, the Ps5 is almost the same hardware as the Xbox

This is wrong. That shows that you are not informed.

The Xbox Series X has an approximately 30% more powerful GPU, which is comparable to an RTX2080 Super. The Playstation graphics unit on the other hand is only comparable with a RTX2060SUPER or RX5700XT

A revised RX5700XT graphics unit is installed.

In addition, the Xbox has built in the same processor units (Ryzen 7 3700X), but these clock much higher.

Last but not least, the Xbox Series X has the better / faster memory and the larger hard drive space.

Ke

The graphics units can't be compared at all, the Ps5 GPU is clocked much higher, the Xbox GPU has more computing units

Yes that's true. This is also much smarter with the Xbox, because it reduces heat and distributes it to more cores.

Incidentally, the SSDs are the same with different sizes and in both cases actually pearls in front of the pig

Unfortunately this is wrong.

The Xbox Series X has around 800GB of free memory (1TB SSD), while the Playstation 5 has a 600GB small hard drive (800GB SSD). On the other hand, the Playstation 5 SSD is faster, but that doesn't help. You can already see in many games that the Xbox games load faster than the Playstation 5. Why? Because the main memory is crucial, the hard disk is only limited

Ad

Both are Nvme 4 Ssds that hang directly on the CPU

you hardly notice a real difference when it comes to loading

There are virtually no loading times on both devices

Incidentally, both have 16GB of RAM

let's summarize:

Xbox graphics unit a little better (but not worlds away)

Controller a little better Sony has caught up a lot here

Design… Neither the black block nor the pregnant oyster get a beauty prize

Ad

Your tenor, the medium would not run on the Ps5 is and remains wrong, the implementation is only prevented by a contract that Microsoft will probably pay dearly

and your comparisons are windmills because the clocks are not the same The ssds are the same apart from the size

In addition, Medium is not the very best optimized game because it does not help you to get the performance of the Rtx 3090 where you can certainly turn up the graphics much more than an Xbox allows

Ke

I agree with you.

Subject performance:

The difference in performance will probably only be seen later. At least the Ps4 and Xbox One titles run much better on the Xbox Series X than on the Playstation 5, especially since titles on the Xbox Series X get an update every week, which means they can run at 120fps without optimization.

Ke

Your tenor, the medium would not run on the Ps5 is and remains wrong, the implementation is only prevented by a contract that Microsoft will probably pay dearly

Microsoft owns the studio, the game, and all associated licenses. It's an MS-Xbox exclusive title, and Sony has it that way too.

In addition, Medium is not the very best optimized game because it does not help you to get the performance of the Rtx 3090 where you can certainly turn up the graphics much more than an Xbox allows

this has nothing to do with optimization. The game is simply very hungry for performance due to the two worlds perspective.

The Rx5700XT (Ps5) doesn't manage a constant 60 fps even without a two-world perspective. Mind you in 1440p, 4K would then be an absolute problem.
