I have found that you can also play with a mouse and keyboard on the Xbox Series x. This can also be set in the game, but the Xbox only recognizes either the mouse or keyboard whichever was plugged in first
Do I now need a special mouse and keyboard or is it a matter of settings?
I have a ps4 and when I plug in both I have to wait about 20 minutes until it is connected. I read once that you'd rather have one piece of USB and the other Bluetooth (not sure)
The PS4 does not support a mouse and keyboard at all in gaming only in the browser on the Xbox one x I could plug them in both were recognized, however, gaming was not possible with it except for a few games
Some mouse and keyboard combos are also suitable for games, of course the game must also support this
The game supports it I have to change a Roccat mouse and Roccat keyboard only the xbox always leaves only one of the two active means I first plug the keyboard then the mouse switch the Xbox keyboard off again although it is still plugged in
Actually, you only have to plug the mouse into one USB port and the keyboard into the other. I use the two in the back. Maybe it doesn't work well with all models yet because of drivers or something similar.
What mouse and keyboard do you use? I have the Corsair K95 Paltinum and the Zowie FK1.
I use a Roccat tyon and a Rocket isko with me he always deactivated one of the two, by the way, I was in the game Assassin's Creed valhalla
I also have certain "problems" with my Xbox Series S when I connect my mouse and keyboard to it. With the keyboard, for example, it almost always happens that games like Mass Effect Andromeda or Forza Horizon 4 can't be operated correctly, such as when you start the games, and the games ask you to press the A key or after they have finished loading having to press any other key does nothing. Only when I disconnect the keyboard from the console, restart the game completely and then connect the keyboard, everything runs smoothly.
Please note that in any case NOT ALL xbox games M&K are supported, Xbox Classic and Xbox 360 games are completely excluded. Games like Warzone, Minecraft Bedrock, Space Engineers, Warthunder etc. Support mouse and keyboard, games like NieR Automata ONLY work with the keyboard, no idea why. There are also some games that unintentionally support the mouse and keyboard in part or in full, such as Train Sim World 2020 or Train Sim World 2, because occasionally only a few keys on the keyboard are accepted as input, otherwise the rest simply works with M&K Not. (TSW 2020 and TSW 2 are actually two different railway simulations, although they look almost identical)
There's also an adapter that is supposed to make gaming with a mouse and keyboard on the console possible. So you can play games with M&K that are actually not compatible. However, I would advise against it, because the adapter can be written with scripts connected to the PC, with which one could cheat on the console (Aimbot, Rapidfire, x10 Jump and x5 Sprint as an example)
I still use a USB hub for my M&K. With it I can connect the hub to the Xbox Series, and connect 4 more USB devices to the hub itself, so I save space for my 2 SSDs, which I need as a storage extension or as a recording location for the Series S.
Okay, it works for me with USB but I don't even have such an adapter with a separate one, I even have the xim Apex Deck, so it works fine when I connect the keyboard and the mouse directly to the console, but it is very confusing because it is the keyboard then yes recognized as a controller and in the game said I should press a button on the controller
I have now tried the same mouse or keyboard with several mice and keyboards, the last one plugged in, the other is simply deactivated
No idea. I tested it with Fortnite and it works without any problems.
