Does it make sense to buy a gaming monitor with more Hz than an Xbox One, or is it really only as much Hz as the Xbox One needs?

I want to buy a gaming monitor for my Xbox One. Now I ask myself whether it makes sense to use a monitor with e.g. To buy 144 Hz if an Xbox only, I think, has 60 Hz.

No that will not help you, you will not feel any difference. But maybe you will buy the new generation of consoles anyway, because higher fran rates will be supported and then this is really a good upgrade with 144hz.
