Will a pc for 1500 euro perform a lot better than an xsx or ps5?

If you build in a rtx 3080. I have no idea about PCs, but heard that it is supposed to be an unbeatable price-performance ratio and then I thought, maybe I would rather assemble a PC for 1500 euro myself than buy an xbox or ps5. Does that really make sense? So is the difference really very big or just smaller?

Jo

We don't know that much about the performance at the moment anyway and the console will not be exhausted for the first few years anyway because the developers have to adjust to it first. I mean Ratchet & Clank in 60 FPS with 1080p (30fps in 4k) is really not a great performance for a next gen console.

The difference to a 1500 euro PC will be quite big, especially if you add the new 3000 from Nvidia, so I would wait with the PC because the cards are coming soon.

If you have less money then a PS5 is more worthwhile because the games are simply better optimized for the price.

If you compare the TeraFLOPs of the new consoles with an RTX3080, the card is 2-3x more powerful than the console

The pc will be far better. The current status is that the PS5 is graphically roughly on par with a GTX980

St

More like the 2070 super

Er

The raw performance of the pc for 1500 euro will be significantly better, but the games on the consoles are always MUCH better optimized. Especially after 1-2 years. The consoles will have the edge over the 3080 in later Triple A titles.

St

The Ps5 will probably only cost 400/500 euro.

Playstation exclusive titles will run better on Playstation than games on most PCs. Games like The last of us, Ghost of tsushima etc. Playstation has too many of them.

Games on the Rtx3080 will look better, but you just don't have any games that you can use to your full power. 8k with 60fps, what do you want to play? And 8k gaming is really stupid, but you can do what you want.

So better get a console because you have what is most important for the hardware and that is the games.

Power for not.

But you can also work on the PC and you can exchange the parts at any time.

There will be tons of 8k games coming in the future, but you'll have to wait too long for that.

Er

The playstation 4 pro was on par with the 980. You got something mixed up

No. I'll just leave this in the room

And just for information: No, the PS4 Pro was not on par with the 980. More like an AMD RX470 (even if it still performs a little better than the PS4 Pro). And with that, it's somewhere between 960 and 970.

In itself, the PS4 Pro's GPU is a severely downclocked RX480 - which is why it is even slower than the 470
