I have a problem (which is getting bigger)
Licking my cat has recently taken on extreme proportions.
(my cat doesn't do this at all)
She has always licked bags and packaging from time to time. At some point I had the feeling that she was doing it to get attention (she licks it and looks at me, but it may be because she is waiting for mecker or that I come and take it away) and then it started that she did it briefly made before feeding.
At other times I can put her a bag to play with and she doesn't lick it at all. She is looking for the plastic to lick on / under the table.
So the latest development goes to my Playstation, Xbox, controller, etc. (think she goes because she can't find bags)
I have already read that cats like to go to bags because of the plasticizers.
How can I stop her from doing this?
Clear everything is not an option (TV and the like can't be cleared away, everything that goes is cleared away or covered)
-I think of two ways to splash water every time (but if I do you go to the next leak option and I'm always so sorry)
- Second, I could just have it done (but that seems so wrong to me)

Just leave them. Splashing with water is so mean. Maybe you are missing any minerals but what does that have to do with plastic? All cats have their own idiosyncrasies. Mine always steals cheese and ham from the toast when it is standing somewhere and she likes it when you put your finger in her ears. Nothing happens if she just licks it. Put away plastic bags! And a remote control / controller can't swallow it.
I clear away almost everything… Maybe it will be less if I ignore them at all… But it will be difficult
Search the internet for everything you can find about "Pica syndrome in cats". Possibly. Will this help you further.
Or talk to your vet about it.
I would not splash the cat with water, but maybe it helps to distract them by playing or cuddling and above all make sure that there are no small parts made of plastic or cords etc. That could swallow them.
