Do I need an adapter to use a headset?

I would like to buy a headset for my Xbox One. I have a PUBG controller for this. Do I break an adapter for it or not?

Since you use the xbox with a monitor, it may be that you can connect it normally, but you probably need one. Probably for the controller.
