How can it be that Steam takes forever to launch games?

I do not know why (otherwise I would not have to ask the question), but Steam takes an awfully long time to start some games. I'm talking about 5-10 minutes here. Normally the games start right away, but some just take forever… I could not see a pattern here so far, somehow I have the feeling that it has something to do with my Xbox Controller, that's going to test that out for the day.

Anyway, I have a GTX 1070 Ti, i5-8400, 2x8000 GB RAM and win 10. So it should not fail because of too little power.

Does anyone know the problem maybe and knows a solution?

Ma

2x8 GB of RAM should of course be called

Lame or too full hdd?

En

Steam is made up of 12 servers and 8 update services which usually pull the actual updates, but often a patch of steam is also thrown over it by steam if the update is flawed. And sometimes the security patch is thick or one of the 12 servers is lame or one of the servers of the original game provider. Where the 12 servers act rather as a gateway to guarantee the smooth allocation. However, Steam is aware of this and has announced (unfortunately I can't remember where I read this, but it was a side of steam that I do not even find around) that they will establish 3 new servers and slash the security patches until August.

An

So I can imagine that it is located on the frstplatte

(I did not have such problems but did not have ssd and gta needed 10 minutes minimum to start

I have ne ssd bought and pulled the operating system on the ssd

Gta saved on the same disk and suddenly it was only 5 min)

(Probably the times are exaggerated but shows what I mean)

Ja

XD…

would be a bit bissl otherwise!

Thanks for the answer. That's what I suspected, but when I moved a sample trial on the SSD, where also the OS is, nothing has changed…

Ma

Thanks for the answer. That sounds logical indeed, let's see what it's all about. Still a pity that you spend so much money on games and your pc and then it does not work well.

Reinstall steam
