I'm a little fan of Gamepass but next month it will be a little difficult to buy an Xbox prepaid card because Christmas is just around the corner and the children in particular are of course more important to me than an Xbox prepaid card.
Do I have to cancel the gamepass now or will the games simply be blocked until I reload it? I'm afraid of dunning costs or the like. ^^
I've only had the game pass for 2-3 months. Accordingly, the whole thing is still new to me ^^

You can actually buy credit now and thus top it up.
If you use the game pass with a prepaid card, you have taken out a subscription.
If a payment fails, there are no dunning fees, but you can't pay it again with credit before the outstanding amount has been paid. This is done using PayPal or credit card. The reason is clear, Microsoft wants to avoid that there are arrears.
Alternatively, I recommend that you cancel the gamepass immediately. It then runs for the rest of the month already paid. If you want to use it again and avoid such problems, simply buy Gamepass prepaid cards in stores instead of credit. These have a limited period of validity.
