You can now allegedly play games such as Fortnite with Xbox players (as a ps4 user). Do you know if this is synonymous with Apex Legends?
Cross-platform gaming is not yet a mass phenomenon. Fortnite is the first and only exception. I do not want to rule out whether this will be available in the future with other games, but the current technology of some games does not make that possible. Apex Legends is not one of them.
Rocket League and State of Decay 2 also have crossplay. And there are many more games that offer that. Fortnite might not be the first game there.
Although most only run between PC and XBOX. Sony balks against crossplay.
The Crossplay that you refer, but refers to a same system. "Xbox on PC". Normal Xbox Live games, you can also stream to PC, or some manufacturers offer virtually the same system for Windows, which in turn has a synergy with Xbox and its technology. Meaning, Xbox games on the PC run more or less the same infrastructure. Sony is a completely different company with its own system, which should be difficult to combine for ALL games. The cross-platform also extended to other systems can be transferred is still very new.
