I have had a switch since mid-February and I have no problems with it a few weeks after I bought it, I googled whether it could be left for days or even weeks. Actually, that shouldn't be a problem, but a week or two ago I took her out of the dock and packed it away, and since then I haven't played with her when I packed her away, the battery was at 100% and in standby I now get it it out and the battery is at 17%. Doesn't that mean if it is in the dock and only loses some power that it will be charged up to 100% again and again and if it sinks a bit again? Wouldn't that be bad for the battery? So rather not leave it in the dock?
Sometimes you put them wrong in the dock so that the console does not load. If that doesn't help, simply use the support or the guarantee.
I wouldn't do it. I bought a transport bag for my switch and when I stop playing I switch it off completely (hold the power button down until a menu opens and then go to switch off in the power options) and then put it in the transport bag.
Yes, of course I do, but I forgot
It works and loads, too, I just wonder if it doesn't break if it is always in the dock because it discharges over time and is therefore recharged every time 1% is empty. I thought that might damage the battery.
However, I would not leave the switch in the dock, but would always remove it after playing. Unless I know I will be playing on TV the next day, which is not the case with most of my games.
I heard from a reviewer that she discharged while playing. Usually, the console should not discharge in the dock.
However, as you described the situation, it sounds like the console unloaded in the dock while it was not in use, which makes me suspect that it simply wasn't stable in the dock and discharged over time.
As far as the constant charging and discharging is concerned, this is normally not a problem with modern silicon batteries. I'm not 100 percent sure about that.
With my old laptop, I had a function to use it while charging without causing battery damage, which is why the Switch could have a similar function.
