Commodore 64 was released in August 1982, what if it was only 3 years late, in late 1985?
Would everything else have come 3 years later, i.e. Amiga, Super Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, PC, etc? Would it have affected anything else after that?
How would the development go?
Probably this, probably not?
Then maybe MSX-Basic would have gained more land. One does not know.
Anyone who is late in the computer industry lags behind the competition. Other manufacturers would have been ahead and the rapid development of new computers would not have stopped this. The C64 would not have come onto the market at a later date because it would no longer have been competitive.
I think no.
The C64 is called the most important home computer, but was not a pioneer in technology.
After all, there were already major consoles like the Atari 2600 or the Philips Videopac.
And there was also the PC (although not suitable for playing).
The C64 only ensured that computers became more widespread because it could also be used for programming, which is not possible with consoles.
And as an alternative there was already the VC 20 and MSX was in the starting blocks. I think if the C64 had come later it would not have come because its technology would have been too out of date. Another computer would have taken on the role of the C64.
