Lamps of a long distance relationship?

I've seen lamps or something on Tik tok where the partner has one and the other has the counterpart and you could then write a message on this device and it was then displayed on the other, similar to this chat on Nintendo at the time. I don't know what these devices are called and whether they were really lamps, but if someone happens to know what I mean and what it's called, I would be happy to hear from you.
