Is it safe to sell electronic devices through E-Bay?

I would like to sell my consoles via Ebay (Playstation, Nintendo etc.)
But now I have often noticed that buyers then complain and claim the product is broken. Then send back your own defective device and keep the good.

Of course, each device has its own serial number, but even if I remember it before selling, can't the scammer easily replace it? I mean, there are certainly some methods to change the small glue.

Is there any way to really make sure I sell my working device without being cheated on a broken device?

You must exclude the material defect liability in the description.

Then you are on the safe side.

Tip: sell on eBay classifieds, there are no fees on.

I sell more often and also write that it is a private sale and no warranty.

If it happens to you several times that you sell things that are always reported as defective by the buyer, you can be sued for fraud, as you sell broken things as working.

The answers that you have received so far somehow imply that it would be ok to sell defective equipment and not have to take it back because there's no right to return it.

That's wrong, of course. Of course, if you sell a broken Playstation as well, the buyer has every right to beat it around your ears. Now you want to sell a HEILES Playstation and thus your concerns are of course completely justified and I see so far no answer that goes into it.

So my tip: a used Playstation must have any signs of use. Document these as well as possible on photos, be it small scratches or other mini-quirks that can unambiguously identify the article, of course, the serial number, it should be hard to replace the undamaged.

Then of course only insured shipping, then everything should work.
