Nintendo ds lower screen knows why?

Hello first, my uncle died in 2017 I was in his office and found my old Nintendo DS that he actually wanted to repair and the bottom screen is completely white but I can't see anything but still select apps and the screen is somehow on some set black I still remember where I was 7 or 8 no idea how old but in any case I charged the ds and disconnected it after charging and then turned it on and it was funny, black and white, no idea why I always handled it properly someone an idea what to do
