I'm 17.5 years old. I would really like to have a switch, I have the money, but I don't want to disappoint my parents. They think gaming is a waste of time. I think the Switch is also expensive, but when I see my friends having fun and constantly youtubers (because of Animal Crossing, Mario Kart 8, for example) I get really excited to do that too…
I can't do anything at the moment anyway and I've already done all my homework. When my mother asked me recently: "You don't buy that, do you?" I couldn't tell her that I wanted something like that and just said "Probably not". I just don't want them to think I'm addicted or childish or something… I think it's overpriced too, but I'd like to buy it trzd.
Should I tell you that I want one and they will buy it for me, or just suppress it that I want one?
Sounds like a child's problem, it is and I'm childish, trzd. I ask the question. 😅
Video games are not childish.
There really are a bunch of adults who don't live up to that gamer cliché.
And everyone should keep a little child no matter how old you are.
So if you really want it then do it. You are almost an adult. This includes making decisions that mom and dad don't like. That's how it is
It's best to talk to your parents again. They are probably not even aware that a lot of adults are playing video games these days. In the end, you have to decide for yourself. I would have preferred to buy one a few days ago, and I'm a few years older than you.
Video games are not childish ;-)
And a nice change, especially in times of social distance. I'm already looking forward to the end of my working day today, my Switch and my Animal Crossing New Horizons.
I'm 48, by the way. And I can only play late in the evening after I have finished homeschooling my two teenage sons ;-D
No, the switch is not childish. It seems that your parents who live with this attitude are childish.
Got a colleague whose father recently got a switch
The average age of the gamer in Germany is about 36 years… Just so.
9.5 million gamers in Germany are over 50. Don't think that they're all childish.
