The Ps5 will definitely not manage 4k 120hz, but if it can manage 4k 60hz as already confirmed, it would easily manage 1080p 144hz right?
On Amazon you can already see the ps5 and the description says that you can play on 4k with some games on 120hz. So on games that support it. I'll wait and when the ps5 comes out and with it hdmi 2.1 and more details about the ps5 are there, I'll buy a wqhd 120hz monitor.
It will only manage 120 fps or 120hz in some games in Full HD. 144hz are not planned with this console. 120hz are also completely sufficient.
We will only see more details when the first tests have appeared.
"Enjoy smooth gameplay with a high frame rate of up to 120 frames per second for compatible games that support 120 Hz output on 4K displays." -Sony.
So either they really lied or there's a Ps5 pro.
Where did you get the FullHD-120FPS connection from? Was that an official statement?
No. But the console will hardly be able to display hardware-hungry games in 4K and 120hz. After all, the console is only as strong as a current high-end PC and it barely manages 4k and 120 fps in such hardware-hungry titles. 4K 60Fps will be more the norm. Small games like "Ori and the Will of the Wisps" should of course also run in 4K and 120 Fps on the console.
We'll see more when she's out. So far these have only been speculations on our part.
OK. But, like many here, you ignore the option of a (native) resolution between FullHD and 4K, which is already standard with the PS4 Pro for many 60 FPS games. The difference to 4K is upscaled, and you still have a much better picture than just FullHD.
I know. There's always talk of 4K and such. Resolutions like 1440p or so are then rather too short. I was only assuming the maximum possible, playable resolution here (we'd better not talk about 8K). Of course, I think it's nice when the consoles finally discover the 60 fps in hardware-hungry games for themselves, because the 30 fps tend to hurt my eyes as a PC gamer. ^^
