I have a PS4, but I'm an absolute casual player and I hardly know anything about the game world. So far I have primarily played sports games like NBA2k or Fifa.
Now a friend gave me "Call of Duty, Advanced Warfare" and I enjoy it again, because I used to play shooter on PC in the 2000s.
Now my question: Is there a good shooter alternative that may have a more relaxed gameplay than the newer CoD parts? I find CoD a bit exhausting in the long run, because you are rushed through the levels with a constant blast at the stop. I'm also too unfree in the campaign to my taste. It always says "get this, do it" etc.
From the past I get more into (war) shooters in which I can act more like a "lone wolf" with more open worlds and I don't have to constantly chase a team that gives me instructions. Nevertheless, it shouldn't get boring right away and you should only meet an opponent every half hour.
I would appreciate tips! They don't necessarily have to be the latest, most expensive games. Better something from the last 2-5 years that are already available.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
CoD used to be slower, if not much.
Wolfenstein is recommended, but also has intense fights. Battlefield is slower, but it doesn't necessarily have great campaigns.
Far Cry might be something for you to explore a lot and fight again and again, but not so often.
Sorry hadn't read the question to the end.
I would have liked to have recommended ARMA to you, but unfortunately this does not exist for the PS4. Otherwise I would maybe take a look at Insurgency, but I don't think I will release until August.
Otherwise I just think of Battlefield or maybe even Far Cry.
How about a game from the list below:
Metro Exodus
Far Cry 5
Far Cry New Dawn
Rage 2
Wolfenstein The New Colossus
Wolfenstein Youngblood
Borderlands 3
Destiny 2
Quickly out of your head and everything where you can shoot a little on the PS4.
Far Cry 5 is highly recommended in my opinion. Big, beautiful world, also with many animals. Fighting is not neglected either. Plays in Hope County, a part of a state that was controlled by a sect called "Edens Gate". To the map: There's a large mountainous region with a large forest and a large flat region with many wheat fields etc. But there are also many lakes and rivers for fishing. In addition, certain sect outposts can or must be taken. How you do that is up to you, whether quietly with a sniper, bow and silencer or sound with a machine gun, a rocket launcher, etc. Of course, depending on the approach, the whole thing provides a lot of variety.
If you decide to do it and you like it, I recommend Far Cry New Dawn, which is more or less a sequel.
Lg and have fun playing
