PS Plus membership card, Sony's outrageous customer service?

I bought 3 months ago at the Media Markt 3 months ago Playstation Plus card and redeemed with my online account on my PS4.
Suddenly I got exactly 3 months later that my membership was renewed automatically and shortly afterwards a notification from my PayPal account that I have been deducted from Sony24.99 euro (PayPal I probably had linked about 4 years ago). Have never activated this automatic member extension since the other times before (even PS Plus card from Media Markt) after expiration nothing came, until this time.
Have found a 1-month-old article on the Internet where it is described that this automatic extension can be falsely activated by Sony for an update. I reported directly to the Sony support this meant out of goodwill, the purchase is canceled. Now the money was only credited to my Sony account and not on my PayPal where it was deducted.

Sorry for the incredibly long text.
My question is whether that is right at all, if I bought the membership via a card, that Sony will then be deducted via my PayPal independently without my knowledge of the Sony activated automatic membership extension? Is it possible that my money will be refunded to my PayPal? Always it was not my fault and the money on my Sony account brings me nothing. I'm really at a loss.

Here is the article described above: https://www.giga.de/...ngerungen/

Mistakenly from Sony for an update

That's not true. It's been like that forever. Yes, it's a lousy business practice, but it's nothing new.

It is a great concession that they give you the money.

If you like to use your PS4 online, then I recommend that you always extend the PS Plus membership at the time of the offer, so you get away with about 42 euro per year.

Strange I have often bought a membership and it was never renewed. Well think it's an insolence of Sony:-)

This is pure rip-off will never buy me Ps4 online again. Can I "sell" the membership to another account?

Mo

Maybe there was no payment or there was not enough credit on the PSN account.

Mo

For me, the annual payment is not a knock-out criterion for a console, it's just a disadvantage, but you also get benefits. Among other things, comes with me every half of the price every year, because there's a game that I wanted to buy anyway sometime. And some console benefits are nowhere else.

Since I always extend cheap, it does not affect me. But yes, this practice is really an outrage.

You could try to sell the access data by less than 25 euro on Ebay. There's no transfer of money or content to another account.

Ho

Again, you can only play this game that you wanted to buy anyway if you have an active membership. Joa the know how they can make money.

Mo

Uh yes, and I have an active membership anyway?
