Samsung Q60R sufficient for PS5?

Our old TV broke a few days ago, so we want to buy a new one now. I plan to buy the PS5 in November and would like a television that can play the games smoothly and with the appropriate graphics. I won't be able to use all the power of the console - an 8k TV is far from the budget that we would like to spend on a TV…

I have researched before and came across the Samsung QLEDs and decided to take one of the cheapest ones because the others are really too expensive for a TV.

Now I wanted to ask if the TV is also suitable for gaming. I would get the 49 inch version, but in contrast to the 55 inch version it only has 60 Hertz. I really don't know if the Hertz count is sufficient to render my games (mainly Assassins Creed, The Witcher and all sorts of RPGs) smoothly… Until now we only had an age-old (about 7 years old) television that I never played on have. Unfortunately, I didn't find any particularly good alternatives to the Q60R 49 inch. Unfortunately 55 inches do not fit on the wall.

I would also like to know whether the 60 Hertz are reasonably future-proof or are already out of date.

Well researched first! This is something that very few people know!

So with the limitation to 60Hz you are already giving away some potential. But this is actually only relevant for first-person shooters or possibly racing games. If you don't need this, 60 Hz is also sufficient (although I would always prefer 120 Hz displays, as they are actually installed in all higher-quality televisions).

49 inches is a borderline case - the luxury class actually only starts at 55 ". But there are exceptions: So far, Sony has produced the only premium TV in the 49" class (Xx90 series, now Xx95). Now there's also an OLED model from LG, which is correspondingly expensive with over 1500 euro. Sony also used a 49 "OLED, in addition to the mentioned LCD series. So alternatives would exist, but would be significantly more expensive.

For research, I always recommend https://www.rtings.com/.

Thanks. You really helped me with that. Researching the 60 Hertz was also such a thing, because it is wrong with Amazon… I just wanted to be on the safe side. The website you recommended helps me a lot.

Incidentally, I have a 49 "XE9005 from Sony myself because 55" was too big for me. I also did a lot of research, 3 years ago that was the best 49 incher on the market. Absolute hammer part.

I think the site is the best in the world. However, you can't test them all, e.g. The XG9005 is Not inside.

How much do you want to spend at all?

Around 700 euro maximum… I have now found an offer for the q60r 55 inch on Amazon (the 55 inches were still available for what I don't know for a reason). I'll probably take it. With the space it gets a little tight, but the 120 Hz are more important to me.

Unfortunately I can't take Sony because our TV provider (Sky) should only work with Samsung according to the Internet…

In most cases games will run at 4k 60fps
