I had my credit card on file as a payment method on my PlayStation Network account. A stranger has now gained access to my account and bought several games on the PlayStation Store with my credit card. I have now removed this payment method and have also taken all other security measures.
But I'm worried that the person was able to see the complete credit card details and is now misusing the card. To check whether the credit card details can be viewed, I have just saved my credit card as a payment method in my PlayStation account. As far as I could tell, only the last four digits of the credit card number are visible there, the rest is censored. If that's true, then I should be on the safe side, right?
Or maybe I missed something. Does anyone here know better about the situation at the Playstation Network?
No, the person couldn't. Only the last 4 digits are displayed. Everything before that is XXX (…). Don't worry, that's what this function is for. And yes you are on the safe side. Change your password and report it to Sony.
