Ps3 controller not working?

I've been trying to charge my controller for three days now so that I can use the recovery mode. You have been hanging on the cable for several hours (two controllers, several cables) and nothing worked.

before someone says "there's a reset button on the back" This has been pressed several times for several minutes. I didn't spill water or anything on it. Is it because they were in the closet for so long? And if so, you were lying on the cable for several hours, Why don't you turn on?

Yes my 4 ps3 controller doesn't work either I think because they haven't been used or anything
