Buy Mortal Kombat XL although you already have X?

I already have the game Mortal Kombat X (on the PS4) and I wanted to get the DLCs but they cost so much one by one. Could I theoretically get the XL version to get the characters to or just create a whole new score?

or does anyone know another cheap way to get to the DLCs?

I have Mortal Kombat XL bought directly (XBOX but stop) & there's a code to activate the DLC. You could theoretically get the game completely and just solves the code instead of installing the CD again.
