Good internet over several floors?

The following problem: Our vodafone router is upstairs and (apart from the fact that worse internet comes in from Vodafone than it should anyway) my Playstation and my brother's are downstairs in the basement. So far we have always used a TP-Link repeater and then I played on the LAN cable and he over WLAN. The thing is, the connection is really catastrophic.

On top of the fluctuating 40 upload, which sometimes stands at 10 during test runs on the Playstation, there's also a crisp 1 upload and this is really a maximum of 1.8 always below. Accordingly, the ping is not suitable for gaming on a good connection, as it is 30-50 ms in Fifa 21 ingame. The result is a super annoying delay and absolute frustration because you can't play how you want.

The question should be clear. How is it possible that my brother and I can both play on a solid connection with more than one upload?

Take a look at the topic of powerline. Works great for me.

What exactly is powerline?

An

We have already tried such repeaters. The TP-Link is already the second. Before that we had one from devolo

Is it as good as a router?

If vodafone = cable television, then you could possibly think about transplanting the box downwards. The cable comes from below. The same applies to normal DSL.

in that case one could then use the telephone line to move the telephone upstairs. If not, there were still cordless telephones (DECT) that usually work a little better than Wi-Fi.

alternatively: DLAN

Moving the box down was actually still an idea that had not yet been implemented, but the eagerness to act on the part of the person responsible is limited, as Vodafone would have to seriously seek a technician…

An

But the thing is actually that even if I put the Playstation upstairs, the connection is anything but ideal. Would say it's less bad than below but really not good

I did not notice any loss of speed.

As I said, we already have the second powerline adapter and the connection is not enough to be able to play on a competitive basis

Electric wire? Or DSL?
