I just received the following email:
In the course of processing your pre-order for the Sony PlayStation 5, we unfortunately had to find out that, due to the very high demand for orders, we're currently unable to guarantee that we will be able to supply you with the desired item by the release date on November 19, 2020. We ask for your understanding and apologize in all forms.
We're currently in a continuous and close exchange with the manufacturer in order to be able to serve all pre-orders as quickly as possible. We therefore ask for your patience and assure you that we will exhaust all possibilities to deliver your order as quickly as possible.
Even if we can't say the shipping date for sure at this point in time, we would be happy if you keep your order.
Did you get something like that or how should you understand the mail? The order was not canceled by MM, but can I now expect not to receive one for the release? (Btw: the full amount has already been debited).
I (Austria) have not yet received such an email. But I also don't assume that I will get one on the day of publication.
The content is not that dramatic either. The statement is that you will probably not get any on the 19th, but after that you will be at the top of the list. Hopefully the delay will only be in the range of a few days or weeks.
I ordered one directly after the article appeared. In the past you couldn't order your own. So the order sequence is probably not decided at MM.
I think so. The time window was only a few hours back then. Even if you ordered after 15 minutes, enough people could have already ordered that the 1st quota is exhausted.
I ordered directly at 00:01 according to the order confirmation. So directly after the PK from Sony. Anyway, I'm already a little pissed off. You should pay the full amount right away but then get the console sometime next year…
Got the same message from Saturn. However, I was already mentally prepared for it. The number of consoles depends on how many Sony can deliver. The question is whether the quantities at Media, Saturn and others will also arrive as promised.
But also think that they don't just send the email to everyone as a precaution. Indeed, we probably have to expect delays.
I don't see it that dramatically.
You won't have to wait until next year. Only on the first day there won't be any. You will still get one much faster than anyone who has not pre-ordered.
Could be the same with me.
Really doesn't seem to get everyone. I immediately ordered my PS5 at Mediamarkt in the first pre-sale and didn't receive a notification. 🤷♀️
OK I correct. The mail was in the spam folder. 🙄 Wonder why you do a second wave of advance sales when you can't even guarantee delivery of the first one…
I would be really pissed off. I still had vacation that I have to take away and put it on the PS5 release. One can only hope that only those ordering the second wave will have to wait and that they will process the orders one after the other. 🤷♀️
I want to write, don't be too early ^^ But yes, typically MM and Saturn. I actually avoid these stores for obvious reasons, but exceptions prove the rule.
Most likely every pre-orderer got it. I think this is a purely precautionary measure before the shouting is big in the end if not all pre-orders can be served.
I got it too and on the first night of September 17th Ordered with the first wave.
There's a telephone recording (already a few weeks old) of a conversation with a Gamestop employee in the USA, who indicates that your initial quota is only sufficient for the first wave of pre-orders and that the second wave will not receive your consoles until about a week later. Maybe it's similar with MediaMarkt and for the sake of simplicity this message was sent to all pre-orderers.
So far there are no similar indications from other dealers in Germany. (Mall apart from Saturn, but they belong together).
I think everyone actually got them. Attended the first wave and received it too.
We're in exactly the same situation. 😂 However, I have two other pre-orders from other retailers, all first wave.
To sell them afterwards for 700 euro on Ebay?
No. That would be much too difficult for me and I'm not dependent on extra income.
