What's the fastest way to progress?

I have been playing Star Wars Battlefront II on the PS4 (with controller) for about 3 weeks and I would be interested in how I can level my HEROES and Villains the fastest (which mode is the fastest way to level up my heroes and villains) and other tips on Gameplay would be good because I'm not very good.
