Days Gone has damaged my PS4. So that I could turn it off only by the power switch. However, it happened now that the external hard drive could not be repaired. Unfortunately, it was only briefly recognized on the PS4, otherwise I would have been able to format it through the PS4. Unfortunately, the PS4 now no longer recognizes a USB device… How can I format the USB memory device on the PC? It does not appear under "This PC". But under "Device Manager" & "Devices and Printers". How can I format the device that the PS4 recognized it again?
If the PS4 really has no defect and you are sure that the HDD is synonymous ok, format the external HDD under Windows 10 as FAT and then dranhängen to the PS4 again.
Using an external hard drive with the Sony Playstation 4 is easy. Then simply connect the hard drive to the switched off console via one of the USB ports and switch on the PS4. Then open the PS4 settings and navigate to "Devices"> "USB devices". Here, the PlayStation 4 displays the just connected hard drive. Select, press "X" and click "Format as Extended Memory" in the menu that appears. The PS4 formats the external hard drive, but of course all data is deleted. Once the process is complete, you can use the external USB hard drive on the PS4.
Otherwise the port of the PS4 is not (anymore) in order or in advance the plate is damaged.
The plate is fine and the PS4 like the PC. At the beginning, the PS4 had to spec. Formatting, which also said that you can no longer use the plate with the PC. After the crash, the PS4 wanted to repair the plate, unfortunately she could not make it. Therefore, the PS4 wanted to format the disk. I then removed them and plugged them in again. But then she was no longer recognized. The record is just now in the intermediate phase where it will recognize neither PC nor PS4 correctly. On the PC you will probably be able to format it somehow, but only by certain detours. I wanted to know that here.
