Put a 27 inch monitor on TV furniture?

I recently started using my 27 inch monitor for gaming on the PS4. Is my half-meter-high TV stand enough to place the monitor on it? Isn't it too deep then? Or should I rather position the monitor on my 80cm high desk? The monitor has a 12cm stand (no joke).
