So my router is about 5 meters away from my ps4 console, but I have a very bad connection on the ps4, I got the idea to get an amplifier and connect the amplifier to my ps4 again via lan cable, because the ps4 would be very close to the amplifier.
In order to connect the LAN cable directly to the router, I would have to pierce the wall… And my question now is whether an amplifier would help, because then I connect it again via LAN
If you already have problems with your Wi-Fi at 5m, then you'd better pull a LAN cable.
So you have a fast and very stable connection.
Wi-Fi amplifiers slow down the data throughput and reaction speed in the home network. This can lead to problems with fast online games.
If it's only 5 meters, then there are only two options:
the Wi-Fi module of the PS4 is generally not that famous for its performance. So if that's the problem, even 3 amplifiers won't be of much use.
Between the Playstation and the router there are obstacles such as walls, ceilings, etc. Here, too, an amplifier will not be of much use, because either the amplified signal is passed through the obstacle again or if the amplifier is behind the obstacle, there's not enough to amplify at.
the best solution would indeed be a lankabel.
