I have now got a Fritz Wlan Repeater 310 for my Fritzbox 7390 and connected it in the mesh and it works great! The router is on one floor above me and I get great reception from the repeater.
However, I noticed that my Playstation 5 does not use the repeater's reception, but always connects to the router when the console is switched on, although the router and the repeater should not have their own connection in the mesh and everything should count as one connection?! When searching for Wi-Fi, I only see one network and not two. But there's the function to connect the console to a network via WPS and when I do that with the repeater, I have full signal strength!
What can I do or change?
Why should there be 2 networks? The repeater only passes on the signal from the box, so only 1 network should be visible at a time. The repeater does not set up its own network.
Exactly, on my smartphone Zb. I always have full reception because it obviously gets its reception through the repeater, but my console always has weak reception because it obviously gets its reception from the router anyway, although there's only one available network. Because when I re-establish a connection between the console and the network using the WPS button on the repeater, the reception indicator on the console is full again
