I'm 16 years old / male and have decided that I want to live my life more here and now and therefore I try to stay away from media such as computer, cell phone and Ps4. But somehow, unfortunately, this does not always work out as I imagine.
Straight to the cell phone I grab in any unpleasant situation, in the bus and also on the toilet. But in general, I also believe that I do not trust too much time with electronic media: For example, social networks like Instagram, Snapchat and Youtube really lose tons of time. Even though I could do much better outdoors with this nice weather and I'm aware of that. I somehow lack a bit of the drive sometimes.
For example, some time ago I decided to do more for myself and to give up my cell phone… But now - half a year later - hardly anything has changed. Do you have tips on how I can tackle it more effectively?
LG.
PS: I'm not totally addicted or anything like that and not depressed either: 3
Instead of being on the phone, you could learn. Hard to imagine, but if you really want to achieve something and if a topic appeals to you and you learn the way it is best and most enjoyable for you, then learning is fun. I never thought until I knew what I wanted. Otherwise, just in summer you can go to the outdoor pool every day when it gets warmer and to the gym. Delete all games on the consoles, no matter how much money you have spent. Then you are all the more sorry to have wasted your life with it. And turn on your phone Silent.
Okay thanks!
This is a commendable decision!
The biggest problem with this is that you do not know what else to do in time.
Start reading a book on the bus, or write a journal or do homework.
On the toilet you can possibly put away his mobile phone.
For the rest of the day you should look for another occupation. Any hobby that you enjoy and what you enjoy. Something could really help you to forget the devices.
You could also meet with friends and do something nice outside.
Leave it for a day at home. Tell your friends, if something should be important, they have to call you on the landline or come see you. It used to work too.
Or let it consciously spend an hour in your pocket without holding it in your hands.
