I wanted to clean my PS4 Pro again and have a little problem. The liquid metal on the heat sink is very difficult to remove, with the CPU it comes off because of the other material. Is it okay if I just put thermal paste on it anyway? I've been trying to get it off for 30 minutes…
Have you ever tried acetone (e.g. Nail polish remover)?
But don't get caught!
The heat spreader appears to be made of copper. Since the liquid metal is bound to have a solid chemical bond. Then you just leave it on.
Use a very good thermal compound.
In such cases I use "Grizzly Hygronaut".
Yes, I've been using acetone the whole time…
Then,
leave it on, won't hurt too much.
OK. Thanks.
Do I have to worry in any way or will this be safe?
Or what do you mean by won't hurt too much
Well
the heat transfer will no longer take place evenly.
Also depends on the tie position.
You will notice it by the temperatures.
But in all likelihood you will not even notice it.
