If it is noisy, at least the channel is open. Does the device have a microphone switch? Because look, if he is on and care: With my headset, the manual was wrong. There was a microphone mute button (on the cable from the headset) and another swapped.
What else you can do (at least with Win10) is first a sound-troubleshooting.
Check the audio settings and check which sources are set for audio recording. Check if this is also set instead of Analog Digital. If the latter applies, it should be set to analog and to the corresponding port (front, back).

A similar Headset I have on a China side Incl. Shipping duty and tax free for under 10 euro (aliexpress.com). It is not worth buying something from Otto.
In a PC then the mic input is not connected to the motherboard.
It should work right behind the sound card / motherboard.
