Twitch Stream lagging?

I streamed on Twitch earlier, but found that the stream was very badly tagged.

I don't know what the problem could be because nothing is lagging with OBS and my internet connection is good.

Maybe someone can help me.

Ke

I think with "Internet connection is good" you mean the upload too? When it comes to streaming, it's all about the upload and not, like the other things, the download

Ca

Well it can be that you don't have enough fast upload speed. Because if you want to stream with 1080p on Twitch, you would definitely need more than 5mbit upload.

Re

Post hardware
Post upload
Post settings from OBS.

Only then can you help.

Gu

I think your internet connection is just too bad for high resolution. Just turn the resolution down and the problem is solved. It will disturb some of your viewers to see the stream only on 480p / 720p but better than if it was lagging all the time.
another solution would be to get a LAN cable or get a new and better router

Ca

I will do it immediately

Ca

I have an upload of 33.85 Mbit / s

Ca

I have added the information to my question. About the graphics card: The graphics card is out of date and I want to buy a new one, but the prices are currently very high for the 3000 series

Ca

My upload is 33.85 Mbit / s

Ca

I have an upload of 33.85 Mbit / s and connected it with a LAN cable

Re

The first thing you should do is URGENT to update OBS. You have a mega outdated version. Your GPU is indeed a big bottleneck & can also lead to various problems.

Streaming via CPU makes perfect sense for you.

What resolution do you want to stream in?

Ca

I have now updated OBS. Before I planned to stream with 1080p, through the GPU I will probably have to stream with 720p or 480p

Re

No, you misunderstand the subject of encoding.
You can encode via CPU as well as via GPU. Your GPU falls away, it's terrible. So you only have CPU (x264 codec).

For a 1080p you only set 2500. That is absolutely not enough, so it is no wonder that everything is lagging. It has to be MIND. A 6000 bit rate (CBR) can be set. Please do the following:

OUTPUT> "Output Mode" to Advanced
OUTPUT> Encoder> X264
OUTPUT> Quality Controller> CBR
OUTPUT> Bit rate: 6000
OUTPUT> CPU utilization (also called preset)> VeryFast
OUTPUT> Profile> main (optimization for mobile end users) or High
EDITION> tune> (nothing)

Not more. These are the basic settings in the Output tab.

VIDEO> Base resolution (your resolution from the monitor)
VIDEO> Scaled output resolution> 1920x1080
VIDEO> Filters> Lanczos
VIDEO> Integer FPS value> 60

If you want to stream at 900p, I recommend using 1600x900 output and 720p 1270x720

The bit rate for 900p at least 4500 - 6000
The bit rate for 720p at least 2500. I recommend 3500 - 4500.

Try your settings with it.

Ca

The stream looks better thanks to the settings, it just stutters a little. I have added the pictures of my current settings above.
If you like to take the time: You can find my Twitch channel under "derFeunik". In the stream "Teststream 1" you can see what it looks like now.

Re

On one picture (tab: Output) you have the check mark "Resize output". Please take it out! It doesn't belong there. The output resolution is set under the tab: VIDEO, as I have described.

So the quality is fine. Did you stream in 1080 or 720?
Confused a bit when I look at the last pictures.

Your CPU should actually do this without any problems.

Otherwise you could change the "profile" from main to high.

Ca

I have now changed the output resolution.
I also just made two new test streams:
With "Teststream 1" I had streamed in 720p with profile main,
with "Teststream 2" I had streamed high in 1080p with profile
and with "Teststream 3" I had streamed in 1080p with the main profile.
I have the feeling that when I stream high with profile, the stream jerks a little more than with main.
It doesn't seem as if the quality has any effect on the slight stuttering.

Re

I can't explain exactly what is happening at MAIN & HIGH. What I'm only saying is that Twitch recommends main so that the streams on mobile devices are also optimized. If you don't care, you just get high.

It's best to move away from 1080p and take 900p. 1600x900
To do this, you start with a bit rate of 4500. See how it goes

But I just see that you are missing an attitude. Keyframe: on 2 in the "Output" tab under the bit rate.

Ca

I have now set the keyframe to 2 and now tried around a bit with 1080p, 900p and especially the bit rate. I have a feeling that not much has changed there. Do you think that this could also be due to my graphics card even if I have set the encoder x264?

Re

In terms of performance, the CPU is all good enough. I have a 2700X, yours is a little better. Why it still jerks with you. Hm. You can't make a lot of adjustments because what always works.

The GPU is of course a bottleck, i.e. The CPU has to compensate for that. Your guess is not necessarily unfounded. What does your RAM look like? Dual Channel & at what rate do they run?

Ca

All slots are occupied with me (4x8gb). The ram has a clock rate of 3600MHz
