First of all, I'm not concerned with the legal side (aslo the law). I know it's illegal…
I wanted to know what happens when you stream copyrighted content on YouTube or Twitch?
Is the stream then deleted / terminated immediately or does what happens afterwards (when the stream is repeated)?
I'm on a Discord server of a big YouTuber (around 6-7 million) and there used to be a regular "Movie Night". Specifically, they just streamed a film (sometimes also large blockbusters) on Twitch. The stream was never blocked, however, and I very much doubt they had the rights to stream…
So what happens now Well, I know it's illegal, but what's happening now in a purely practical way? Maybe someone has experience with it?
Do you see how all the streamers crying around are banned / blocked
If Youtube catches you, the stream will be blocked, with a few viewers this is rather unlikely, otherwise with repetitions, these are much more likely to be blocked.
Yes, but mostly for other reasons…
Nope many were banned because of DMCA but were warned that they should delete all clips and such.
Ah ok.
Thank you, Gerd
Many Thanks!
It must be said that such warnings or accusations on YouTube and Twitch are extremely rarely enforced. Instead, you tend to get a YouTube strike or the channel is banned.
