I'm considering streaming at some point but don't even know which platform YouTube or Twitch there were mixers but the platform closes.
Which platform would you take please with reasons.
The question is very difficult, if you had a YouTube account with videos, then definitely first on YouTube, if not then I would advise you to stream on Twitch.

I would stream on Twitch if you don't have a community it is much easier there.
And everything is better made for it than YouTube. I mean, who is looking for new streamers on YouTube, you need a lot more luck than on Twitch
I think Twitch is better for that, but you can reach more people on YouTube. On Twitch, I think you need an account and all the trimmings and someone who is generally not so into gaming will then not have a Twitch account. But if you stream on Youtube, everyone can watch it without frills.
Sorry if I'm completely wrong with logging in and stuff, but I've never had Twitch. And in my opinion, YouTube is something commonplace for many more people than Twitch, which is another reason.
You can go to the "Gaming" page on Youtube, so that's a kind of channel that you can subscribe to, and you can keep an eye out for live streams
