Before I get to my actual business, briefly a few things that are important to the question.
- budget of max. 300 euro, should be a used one
- 11th grade pupil, but will continue to be used after Abitur
- Only as a "filler", as a strong laptop at home
So now to my concern. I have around 1h-2h a day when I'm waiting for something (like bus or train) or in similar unproductive situations. But since I have a lot of presentations, homework or similar things to do, I would like to use this time, which I "unfortunately" have anyway. Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to work with pen and paper, because I'm simply too lazy to go looking for a table or a usable pad every time.
At home I own a laptop (Intel Pentium 2 cores, 8gb Ram, 512gb, Windows 10 Pro) and an additional monitor to work. I just can't take it with me because the screen no longer has a bracket on one side and would break off even more if it only hangs on the left side. Otherwise the display is perfectly fine. I have a small Xbox One S 1tb for gaming.
I was thinking of a cheap used notebook (min. 8gb ram, ssd, 8h battery). What do I think of of course? MacBook. But of course they are "a little" over my budget. I would get a 2013 Pro at most. But I can't say whether that's a good offer for 300 euro.
Then there are of course Windows laptops and the "new" Chromebooks. In the end, it's also a matter of the digital ecosystem. Unfortunately, I have very mixed feelings about that. I have Airpods with a Huawei smartphone and Windows laptop with Google Home Mini. I use the Microsoft OneDrive and Office service. In theory, a Chromebook would be perfect in terms of hardware. I can get a used Lenovo Duet for 250 euro and the matter would be settled… But the OS worries me, especially because of Windows Office. Is it fully supported or not?
Then of course the Windows 10 laptops, but the battery life is not that long. If someone can recommend something to me for used 100 euro-300 euro, I would of course be very grateful.
So what do you guys think I should get And can you give me recommendations for Chromebooks (used up to 300 euro) and laptops (the same)?
I would be very grateful to you.
For max. 300 euro you don't get anything good.
What's up with you?! How can you worry so much about petty issues?!
Wouldn't buy one for me. In this price range that only causes problems…
Chromebooks: MüllOS
MacBooks: Overpriced
Windows 10 notebooks: Partly Hackintosh installable, but a lot of spyware
NoOs Notebooks: Linux can be installed without unnecessary extra costs for pre-installed Windows.
If you are lucky you get a Ryzen 3 laptop.
The battery of a seven-year-old MacBook Pro lasts two hours, then it's empty again. Either you install a new battery, that's still possible with these models. Or you can get a used Windows 10 laptop.
Okay thank you
Well, I'm just trying to make the most of my money
