Do you save the data if you played it in Game Pass games and then bought it?

I bought the game pass from xbox one, played GTA V there and played through the story there. My question is if I buy GTA V in the store whether the data has been saved when the game pass is over or will I have to start all over again.

I think the saves are still there.
